Domestic Bliss - The Superior Training Academy

Domestic Bliss was established in 1997 in Johannesburg and has grown to now include independently owned training centers in South Africa and neighboring countries.

Domestic Bliss has gained invaluable experience as a Training Provider for the Domestic Worker Learnerships and Skills Development programmes funded by the Department of Labour during the 2003 to 2005 period. Thousands of domestic workers were trained by us, on both the year-long Learnership and Short Skills Training Programmes (Cooking, Cleaning, Laundry and Life Skills) in Gauteng, KZN, Eastern & Western Cape.

Training Methods

Domestic Bliss has successfully trained thousands of Staff members and as the needs of our Learners, and requirements of their Employers are our primary concern and therefore intrinsic to the training content.

Learning material is aligned to SAQA (South African Qualification Authority) Unit Standards and facilitation methods are result-orientated and outcomes-based. Our aim is to ensure that knowledge and skills obtained, successfully retained and implemented in the workplace. Training material is constantly reviewed and updated to meet changing trends and demands.

Training sessions are deliberately set at one-week intervals, so as to not disrupt the workplace routine and to ensure Learners have the opportunity to review material and implement new knowledge and skills into the workplace.

Hallmarks of Domestic Bliss Training:

  • Quality material delivered by experienced and empathetic Facilitators in a supportive environment
  • Easy-to-understand language is used and most Facilitators having multi-language ability.
  • Practical group work and role play are characteristic of our interactive training methods.
  • Constant revision, questioning and ongoing evaluation assist in monitoring each Learner’s grasp of the programme content to ensure results. Opportunity for Learners to receive additional input and interventions and/or to repeat sessions or programmes if they are not confident or haven’t mastered the content at no further cost.

Employers are encouraged to review and discuss material to ensure the Learners fully understand the Employer needs and requirements so that they can work more effectively in a focused and purposeful manner.

Employers are also requested to co-sign and endorse the certificate once they are satisfied that the relevant knowledge and skills learned have been implemented in the workplace.
